Block X Condos

Tucked away in Chicago’s bustling West Loop, the Block X Condominiums offer residents a rare escape. A lush, urban oasis that feels miles away from the city noise. Since 2018, Landscape Concepts Management has partnered with this unique property to elevate and maintain its private green space, transforming it into a sanctuary of seasonal color and structured beauty.

Every corner of this hidden courtyard tells a story of thoughtful design and expert care. Raised planting beds filled with Hostas, Heuchera and ferns create soft, textured layers beneath a canopy of mature Serviceberry, Redbud, Honey Locust and River Birch trees. Seasonal enhancements, like the vibrant Redbud blooms and the rich red hues of newly planted Maple trees, provide ever-changing interest while complementing the building’s distinctive blue ironwork.

Challenges such as limited access through narrow gates and staircases mean all work must be done with small equipment—requiring precision, planning and a hands-on approach by our team. In 2022, we installed a striking Arborvitae wall to provide year-round privacy and screen utility views. By 2024, our team added mini retaining walls to support new trees and create level planting areas, enhancing both the structure and sustainability of the landscape.

Residents of Block X are passionate about living landscapes, and we take pride in nurturing that vision with proactive care and seasonal improvements. The result is a community space that doesn’t just survive in the city, it thrives.
